illustrious career in the city where he was born. Sharath Kamal was born on 12th July 1982 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He started his professional table tennis career when he was in class X.

❖ Sharath Kamal won his first National title in 2003. He has won the National title 10 times in his career.
❖ He broke Kamlesh Mehta’s record of eight National titles.

Lumpur, Malaysia.
❖ He is the first Indian table tennis player to win a gold medal in the singles event of the Commonwealth Games. He won the gold at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth

2 Ropeway Projects in Uttarakhand under Parvatmala project approved

Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved two ropeway projects in Uttarakhand connecting Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib
Ji and Sonprayag to Kedarnath - to boost connectivity and tourism in the hilly state.
❖ The approval for the two ropeway projects under the Parvatmala project was given on the eve of the prime Minister’s visit to
Uttarakhand on 6th March 2025.
❖ The foundation stone of these two ropeway projects was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 21 October 2022. The meeting of the CCEA, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was held in

India ranks 4th globally with 85,698 super rich, behind US, China and Japan

❖ India has emerged as a leading global wealth hub, with a current population of 85,698 High NetWorth Individuals (HNWIs), placing it fourth globally, behind
only the US, China, and Japan, according to the latest Global Wealth Report by property consulting firm Knight Frank.
❖ The number of HNWIs—defined as individuals with at least US$1 million in investable assets—rose by 4.4% globally in 2024, reaching over 2.3 million people. Notably, the population of ultra-highnetworth individuals (UHNWIs), those with
assets exceeding US$100 million,
surpassed 100,000 for the first time, reflecting a broader trend of growing wealth across the world.
❖ America continues to dominate as the world’s primary wealth creator, with nearly 40% of global HNWIs residing in the US, a
figure far surpassing China, which holds 20%, and Japan, which accounts for just over 5%.
